If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve probably heard all about the blogging craze. You might even have a blog or two of your own, perhaps to keep your friends updated on your life, or to keep an audience entertained or informed on a particular subject that you’re interested in. You may (or may not) know that the mainly text-based blogs of yesteryear have evolved into sophisticated forms of publishing all kinds of visual and auditive material, whether it’s artwork, or perhaps investigative photo and video reports on important issues.

So what is a photoblog, sometimes called a "photolog" or simply "phlog"? Well, to put it simply, it is a blog that emphasizes photos as its primary material. This is a great way for any ordinary person with an Internet connection and a camera (or, even more recently, a cell phone which integrates both online connectivity and photo/video equipment) to share his or her photos with family, friends, or anyone who might stumble across the photoblog.
